OUR STORY

It’s not really our story, we are part of what has been an iconic site for Torquay and for the global surfing community, we are just the next phase.

27 Baines Crescent was 2.5 hectare rural block in the mid-nineties until the locally founded iconic surf brand Quiksilver developed the site into their global headquarters, what an incredible building it was back then.

In recent years and with different ownership the site has lost its lustre until recently purchased by IP Generation with the goal of fully restoring the building and the site to make it a hub again for Torquay and the Surf Coast region.

Our part of the story was to create a food and beverage hub that played its role in transforming the site. We have designed our Brewery and our business taking all of the great things of the site and the Surf Coast community into consideration. We hope you feel that it has been delivered in spades.

We like being referred to as a craft brewery because that is what we are all about. In technical terms the word CRAFT means handmade and that’s our goal. Our beers are all made on site by Luke Scott, an icon of the brewing industry and a local legend having been the head brewer at Prickly Moses in the Otways for 13 years prior to joining Sou’West. Our focus is fresh, with the best ingredients and no preservatives, hand crafted just for you. Our food is prepared by hand on site by our local talented team.
